HOKKAIDO sets sail for Summer

During the cool days of winter, we offered our seasonal beer "Winter's Tale" to warm the spirit and complement hearty dining. Sapporo's winter beer was a huge success -- during last year's season, almost 100,000 cases of "Winter's Tale" were sold in the United States!

And now -- as the temperature rises and inspires thoughts of thirst-quenching libations -- we look to the light and refreshing "HOKKAIDO" beer to make an even bigger splash during the hot summer months with their seasonal increase in outdoor sports and recreation.

A smooth, stout draft with a creamy finish, "HOKKAIDO" is brewed in Japan and comes from the golden, sun-drenched barley grown in the lush soil of the island of Hokkaido, the site of Sapporo's very first brewery in 1876! The malted grain is precision brewed and processed in its purest form by way of "ceramic cold filtration" -- Sapporo's patented, landmark innovation.

Priced the same as Sapporo's original draft, "Hokkaido" beer has a heftier 4.4% alcohol content by weight and will be sold in liquor stores, markets and restaurants in twenty-two states throughout the U.S.A. Nationwide, "Hokkaido" will be available in 21.4 ounce bottles. And in California, Illinois, and the state of Washington, consumer will be able to take home a convenient six-pack of 11.8 ounce cans.

For the upcoming 1996 summer season, we are projecting Hokkaido sales of well over 100,000 cases of beer!
