Realizing "Tasty Draft Beer" - Ceramic Filtration System

In order to deliver Sapporo's fresh taste and good body in a can or bottle of beer, we had some challenges to overcome. The biggest challenge was how to eliminate yeast which remained in the product. As time goes by, a beer containing leftover yeast becomes muddled, and suddenly loses its freshness. By heating our beer, we are able to suppress the activity level of leftover yeast; however, to be able to truly enjoy beer as it is brewed to taste, the complete removal of all yeast is a must. "Can we not deliver fresh beer that one can enjoy in a beer hall as well as at home," became our rallying cry.

Ultimately, Sapporo realized its long-held goal by introducing a "Ceramic Filtration System." Yeast, upon finished its job in the beer, is removed through a ceramic filter; then, via a fully automated "Sterile Replenishment System, " bottles and cans are filled with yeast-free beer. With this system completed, we no longer need to add heat to our beer in order to keep it tasting fresh. In fact, our innovative "Ceramic Filtration System" technology, which was born out of our uncompromising pursuit of producing the world's finest tasting beer, is today being exported to large US and Korean beer manufacturers as a total engineering system.
