I couldn't get this to work.

I was hooking my firewire JVC GR-DVL300 camera up to windows xp and it wanted a driver for something called an AV/C Subunit. I had no idea, and the JVC site was no help.

I got it to work in linux, no problem, so I knew the hardware was working.

I asked all the windoze people i knew and they all told me there was no way i needed a driver.

So i kinda gave up for a little while

Then i was at work and I found this page

Basically, you just go into C:\Windows\Inf\ and rename two files.

rename msdv.inf.f1 to msdv.inf

and

rename msdv.pnf.1 to msdv.pnf

Next time I plug the thing in, it works

I guess some person at micro$oft forgot to rename the files after they checked them out of the content management system

Anyway it was pretty annoying to not find the answer in a simple search
